Do ChatGPT Free and Go include Codex?
Yes. OpenAI says Codex is included across ChatGPT plans, including Free and Go. Usage limits vary by plan, and Codex Cloud is not included with Free or Go.
What matters
- Free and Go can use Codex with plan-dependent limits.
- GPT-5.6 Terra is available in Codex for Free and Go.
- Codex Cloud is available to eligible Plus and higher plans, but not Free or Go.
What this means in practice
Free or Go can be useful for lighter coding work, but they are not simply a second copy of Plus. If your work depends on larger allowances, cloud tasks, or higher-capability models, compare the current plan table before changing plans.
